Eep!

We didn't go away this Easter, having a) been too slack to organise anything, b) looked forward to spending some time relaxing at home and c) felt guilty about going away for a few days and leaving the cats behind (we're going to have to get over that). So, having a few days with no plans, we decided on Saturday to start looking at properties. We've been *talking* about buying a place for ages, but hadn't got any further than looking at places online and talking to the bank about loans, and even that only very vaguely. We called half a dozen or so agencies to arrange to view their properties, and went to see one of them that very afternoon. We loved it. We put in an offer. The owner accepted it. Eep!

Apart from being slightly manic trying to juggle a heavy week at work and trying to organise a mortage, a solicitor and all the other tedious things needed, we're really, really excited! It's a house! With a garden! And while there are certainly things we'd like to change (Vaughn will try to tell you otherwise, but secretly he loves the bright pink wallpaper in the main bedroom), it's entirely livable as is.

Wow, that's fantastic. Where is this pink wall papered future home? All the organising mortgages etc is very, very tedious... Also, well done on not drawing out the process while driving yourself insane with weekend upon weekend of searching.

In London, just around the corner from where we are now. In fact, we can see it from our front door. It's an end of terrace house siding on to a paved community area used by the local theatre and street markets. It's super quiet, about three times as big as the flat we're in at the moment, has a garden and is impeccably neat. The present owner is as gay as a bag of hats and has done an excellent job on the place. Though I'm obviously dying to rip out the kitchen and start again...

Big fat congratulations on this one guys !
Will have to come round and take a look, sound like you don't have far to move, but if you need an extra car and pair of hands let me know. Good luck in the new home.

P.S. As someone who's squashed on a tube everyday heading for the capitals busiest stop and struggle back through it at night, I quite fancy the sound of a Brisbane place.

P.P.S. You guys want a shot on my new unicycle sometime, I've given it a full service (pumped up the tire and raised the saddle beyond the recommend safe limit) and seems to work fine, though with a bit of a wobble.

Thanks, C! We'd definitely love an extra set of hands or two (assuming you're brave enough to offer your beloved's as well or I'm stupid enough to assume) - somehow we have to get that enormous bookcase out! You know, the one that took two weeks and a couple of builders to get in...

I should warn you, piratical, we have hopes of doing well out of your deserting us (couches, coffee machines, etc.). Something's gotta help heal our broken hearts :)

And we're definitely up for a go on the unicycle! That sounds awesome. Though I think perhaps around your place with the less traffic might be good... London's quite scary enough on two super fast and sexy wheels!
